What is a Pierogi?

A Pierogi is a type of dumpling made
from unleavened dough and stuffed with various ingredients. Pierogies are usually small enough to
be served several at a time. Though this food has
strong ties to Slavic culture, similar foods occur
in many cultures across Europe and Asia.

The official origin of a pierogi is unknown,
but many cultures have some form of pierogi
as part of their food heritage: Russians, Polish, Ukranians, Lithuanians, Chinese, Italian and
Slovaks to name a few.
